Uncommonfan talks SEC expansion plans!
Now Playing: The Bachelor Pad!
Topic: College Football

wanted to expand upon my conference expansion plans, but to make an omolette you gotta break a few eggs....

Start with the SEC:

Subtract:

Vanderbilt - Welfare athletics.  We already have a Tennessee school.  Yeah you'll be our bosses one day.

Auburn - Really belongs in a conference with Georgia Tech and Clemson, plus we already have an Alabama team.  Not sure what they bring.

Mississippi State - Starkville

Add:

Virginia -  capture the Richmond and Washington D.C. markets, adding something that Thomas Jefferson had a hand in is NEVER a bad thing.

North Carolina - capture the Charolette and Raleigh markets, great football history, the SEC might awaken a football program.

Missouri - capture the Saint Louis and Kanas City markets, decent football and basketball programs

Okahoma - no explaination needed

Texas - no explaination needed

let me know your thoughts...

Here is a fact sheet of the teams I have listed.  I think I have a very solid well rounded conference, athletically and academically.

Let me know your thoughts.

Larger Conferences = Less Historic Rivalries?
Mood:  sad
Now Playing: Praire View -v- Bethune @ West Virginia -v- Marshall
Topic: College Football

If the SEC expands to 14 or more teams will this mean the end of some rivalries?

For example.  If the SEC were to add Missouri without adding a 9th conference game you would likely see Auburn shift to the Eastern Divivision.  Would Alabama with 6 conference division games still be able to play both Tennessee and Auburn on an anual basis?  I think this is unlikely as that would leave room for only 1 rotating spot for the other 5 eastern Teams.

Perhaps, Alabama instead would move East, play Tennessee as part of it's regular division Schedule, and have Auburn as its non rotating western division opponent.

Another solution would be to add the 9th conference game, which I believe would be desirable regarldess given the larger conference size.

 Let me know your thoughts.

Tennessee –v- Montana

Running Game Diary…

6:00        Rain delay…

6:05        Weather delay…

6:17        Please stay tuned…

6:20        Two rain delays in the first game of each of the last 2 years… it’s official… put a dome on the thing… a brick dome…  see the duomo for inspiration…

6:35        CB45 reporting the game will start at 6:45…

6:55        CB45 was wrong… again…

7:40        Probably 50,000 fans there for kick-off…

7:40        Tennessee to receive, this should be interesting…

7:42        Nice little return there… basically anything that isn’t a fumble is gravy…

7:44        2 runs up the middle for next to nothing and a sack on third and long… Dooley ball baby!!!

7:45        Montana fumbles the punt… do they have a special teams coach?

7:46        Flea flicker for the touchdown… Dooley ball baby!!!        Spurrier type play call..

7:47        That fumbled punt was pretty short…

7:48        Montana with that Div 2 speed on the perimeters is going to kill Tennessee…

7:49        At least Pat Ryan isn’t making chicken salad…

7:55        False start Tennessee… nice…

7:57        Justin Hunter 81 yard Touchdown!!! Dooley ball baby!!!

8:09        Starting to wonder about that BSU –v- UGA game… hmm…

8:11        Tennessee calls for a fair catch inside their own 5… fumbles it… Tennessee special teams… do they have a special teams coach? *popcorn eating icon*

8:14        Tennessee trying to pound the rock… they don’t seem able to run when the other team knows they’re going to run…

8:16        Hunter is something on the crossing pattern…

8:24        Tennessee can’t run for sh*t this is concerning…

8:25        Bray with another touchdown pass… I’d be excited if it wasn’t against freaking Montana…

8:37        Third and 8, and Tennessee throws a 5 yard out… the more things change…

8:38        Fourth and 1, Tennessee pounds that rock…

8:42        Nice little run up the gut by Poole for 7…

8:47        Tennessee’s secondary… less than impressive…

9:21        Beginning of 2nd half… I’m not going to make it through the whole game … sad…

9:26        Montana downs punt inside the 1.. this has safety/pick 6 written all over it…

9:26        Pound that rock… SAFTEY… Dooley ball baby!!!

9:27        Poole probably thought the end zone ended where the chess board does…  DTDS thought the same thing for a couple of years…

9:31        And there is your pick 6… I just had the wrong team…

9:51        The game is more boring than my commentary… believe me…

9:53        Sounded/looked like helmet to helmet…

9:55        Bray stares down a receiver… throws an out 2 yards short of the first down… inevitable…

10:03     Hamilton’s bricks are eventually going to kill someone… that is NOT much padding…

10:05     Bray has had 2 INT’s overturned by penalties and Tennessee has recovered a fumble… lucky….

10:17     Poole with a “Flashy” play to get it down to the 1… if they stick it in I’m going to sleep… (that’s what she said)

10:20     Touchdown Tennessee… 42 to 9…  9:10 to go in the 4th quarter…. I think they have this…
